Yes, you’re right. I’m currently on my fangirling mode today. So I will let you witness my world when I’m insane. (Prepare yourselves, Kidding.)
You are one of those thousands of people who mistakenly thought BTS written on the title means Behind the Scenes. Sure, you are not a Kpop fan (Korean Pop). It doesn’t matter actually. Bangtan Boys or Bangtansonyeondan in Hangul that is what we kpop fans mean for BTS every time we saw this three letters together. It is a seven-member South Korean boy group formed by Big Hit Entertainment and had debuted on June 13, 2013, with the song “No More Dream” from their first album, 2 Cool 4 Skool. If you think it is easy for Kpop groups to just get the fame in an instant? No. It isn’t. To capture the hearts of every Kpop fans, first, they must have the good looking members because fans will be looking for them. If a certain group fails to have, let us say, not-so good looking visuals, the chance it has to get the fame is a little bit low. Well, I am not saying that it is true but I have researched some groups whom I did not thought debuted before because they got disbanded suddenly. I don’t know the main reason. It is just an opinion for me. Remember, I am also a Kpop fan so everything that I will mention here is just my own perspective. We all have different ones, aren’t we?
As I revert back, BTS is composed of seven-members who have an image ranging from tougher, bad boys to a more youthful image which makes them admired by the fans. Also, they mainly focus on the hip hop and a bit of Rhythm and Blues genres that appeal to the youth.
Among these seven members, my bias is Jeon Jung kook. Just look at those squishy cheeks, talented and genuine attitude. Fans surely couldn’t take that charms. Before I get so carried away, the members are as follow:
- Jin (Kim Seok-jin; 김석진) – Vocalist, Visual
December 4, 1992 (age 23)
- Suga (Min Yoon-gi; 민윤기) – Rapper
March 9, 1993 (age 23)
- J-Hope (Jung Ho-seok; 정호석) – Rapper, Dancer
February 18, 1994 (age 22)
- Rap Monster (Kim Nam-joon; 김남준) – Leader, Rapper
September 12, 1994 (age 21)
- Jimin (Park Ji-min; 박지민) – Vocalist, Dancer
October 13, 1995 (age 20)
- V (Kim Tae-hyung; 김태형) – Vocalist
December 30, 1995 (age 20)
- Jungkook (Jeon Jung-kook; 전정국) – Vocalist, Rapper, Dancer
September 1, 1997 (age 18)
3 years after they’ve debuted, it has been a successful career for BTS. It was proven through their successful launched albums, concert and performances, TV participations and their worldwide fame. They even had their official fandom called A.R.M.Y or ARMY which stands for Adorable Representative M.C for Youth which also has a significant meaning behind it. ARMY when defined in English is military, the body armor and military are always hand-in-hand meaning the fans of BTS will always be with them. I am proud to say I am one of those ARMYs.
On May 2, 2016, BTS released their special album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever which was supported by three music videos. This was kind of rare because usually when a group made a comeback and released an album there is only one music video that is enclosed to it and that is the carrier single but with BTS, Nope. There are three. An article claimed that BTS did it to give thanks to all the ARMYs around the world that keep on loving and giving support to them. Aside from those three unexpected music videos, what makes their album special is that it contains 112-page photo books which have different photos together with a Polaroid card and a mini photo card of a random member. Isn’t it enough to satisfy a fan girl’s need? It is actually too much.
The first music video was released April 19, 2016 right before the group had announced their special album. It was entitled “Epilogue: Young Forever”. The music video illustrates the members running in a maze full of fences and a bit of wall as well as a flash back scene of their past music videos. Generally, this song stated an individual who is contented and happy of what he has become; who wanted to stay young no matter what circumstances will come and accept the fact that everything do not stay as it is.
May 2, 2016, when they released the second music video which was much awaited by the fans for they couldn’t get over of the first MV. We ARMYs were expecting for more. It was announced by BigHit Entertainment that this second music video were to released by 12 midnight but it turned out that the music video was released by 10 PM. ARMYs were not aware of this so when the news spread about it. It has received over 4 million views in less than 24 hours. The video, “Fire” featured the members partying in an abandoned place surrounded by flames. At first, they were chatting or what outside and a guy suddenly appears which was handled by Suga. (He looks like closing a deal with the reaper, seriously.)And rest of the video is PARTY.
Lastly, the music video for the song “Save me” was released recently, May 15, 2016 where it was set in an empty field with nothing but the members dancing the steps of it. It’s like a dance version with an amazing camera panning. This song states a man longing for love, and also wants to be loved back. Among these three music videos, this is what I absolutely like. I just love the simple rhythm of it. The BGM was organized properly which results into one of BTS’ best songs.
The album said, “The Most Beautiful Moment in life is being Young Forever” Some people might say, yes, right, because that is what most people wanted to be. They even wish for immortality in order to avoid getting aged and the likes. But think beyond the lines, there are lots of things that you couldn’t do if you were still young. In BTS’ views they wanted to stay young because they thought ARMYs will leave them if they no longer have their good looks, lose their voices and their ability to perform well but clearly in their song “Epilogue: Young Forever” they mention that they have accepted things wasn’t meant to stay as it is. They wanted to stay young to be able to perform for their fans because that is all they can give, to give thanks and appreciate all their efforts towards them. Remember we couldn’t stay young all our lives. We will aged and will have things changed. All we can do now is to cherish all the things that we have, make use of it for us to be a better person and would not regret things in the future.
For now, I’ll just enjoy this album.
